How old do i need to be to hire a camper?

All drivers must be aged between 25 and 70 and have held a driving license for at least 3 years.

Can we bring our own electrical items with us?

The vans are equipped with 240V sockets (which only work if plugged into a mains hook-up!) Small electrical items such as phone chargers or IPods are fine. However, we would strongly recommend that you don’t bring large electrical items as storage is limited.

Are awnings included in the cost of hire?

As from 2012 our small annex awnings are available and free to our customers (only when requested at the time of booking). If you need a 2 berth awning with sleeping compartments in then there will be an extra charge of £35 per hire.

Will we need an awning?

Awnings can either be a help or a hindrance depending on the duration of your hire. If you are only going away overnight or are planning on a holiday where you only spend single nights at different campsites then you may not want to start putting your awning up and down at each campsite. However,  awnings are helpful if you are needing a little extra room. They are great for entertaining in during the evening or for putting your belongings in at night or when you drive away from the campsite for a day out. The awnings themselves go up like tents with flexi poles then attach to the gutters to make a porch. They do take a little practise at getting the tension in the porch right for a nice fit but practise makes perfect. The awnings suitable for sleeping are slightly larger and have a sleeping inner tent.

Can we take our pets with us?

YES dogs are permitted in Hank, Betty and Charlie B! We are a family of dog lovers and no doubt when you pick up your van you may well be greeted by Lola the cocker spaniel, or Jake the stray we found! We would strongly request that if you do bring along any four legged canine friends you also bring with you a throw/blanket to protect our upholstery. Please note that we only allow a maximum of 2 dogs per van (dependent on the breed) at a cost of £20 per hire. From Sept 09 Lady Marmalade and Nell are to become our dog free van to cater for those with pet allergies.

Do you hire bike racks? Can we bring our own bike rack with us to put on the camper?

Sorry following a series of incidents with bike rack damage we no longer provide bike racks. Also we do not allow customers to put their own bike racks onto the campers. We strongly advise customers that if you would like to use a bike whilst in your camper you either consider hiring.

Are there heaters in the campers?

No the campers do not have heaters however, if you are staying at a campsite with hook up then we have small plug in heaters that you can hire for £5.
